Temporary GST/HST Exemption

The Government of Canada recently announced a GST/HST exemption (some are calling it the GST/HST "holiday") on certain categories of products purchased by Canadians during the holiday season until February 15, 2025.

The goal of this exemption is to reduce costs for Canadians. However, note that this exemption is very limited in scope and applies only to specific products or services that meet the criteria outlined by the Government of Canada.

Does the GST/HST Exemption cover Santevia products?

Unfortunately, Santevia products are not included in the list of eligible items for the GST/HST exemption. The tax exemption is restricted to a small selection of products and categories, as defined by the Government of Canada.

As such, Santevia must continue to charge the applicable GST/HST rate based on the province where your purchase is being sent.
